Marco Van den Eede

After his three years of graduate school combined with an internship in a law firm and numerous student jobs, Marco Van den Eede took a leap of faith. He applied to COTTYN. In the meantime, he has been employed as a reception assistant.

He receives clientele as if he has been doing it for years. He also records appointments and sorts and processes mail. Answering the telephone in multiple languages and dealing with other players within the legal world does not deter him either. In addition to these duties, Marco also sets up meeting rooms. So you can conclude that his range of duties is enormously diverse.

No two days are the same at COTTYN, between answering the constantly ringing phone and helping the lawyers with administrative tasks. Court letters to be posted. And finally, receiving clients appropriately.

In short, Marco Van den Eede is one of the first points of contact at the COTTYN.

Marco in his own words

In school, I was introduced to all kinds of law: criminal and criminal procedure law, constitutional law and many other areas. I also learnt how to engage in the necessary small talk when receiving clients.

After my internship at the law firm Diligentia, during the final year of my studies, I knew for sure. Advancing in the legal profession, not as a lawyer but as a trusted right-hand man. Diary management, receiving clients, processing mail. Performing all kinds of tasks that allow lawyers to focus on what matters most, which is getting justice done. Leave the rest to me.

The move to COTTYN was quick. Here, I hope that I will eventually be able to make the most of all my strengths and familiarise myself with all the rules and knowledge that the law encompasses.
