Benjamin Vermeulen
Benjamin Vermeulen is the senior associate at COTTYN. His accumulated expertise in liability and traffic law, and estimating for personal injury cases makes him a highly valuable partner in advising clients and developing concrete, pragmatic, legally correct solutions.
His core business consists mainly of acting as a trustee or guardian for the property and personal interests of third parties, on appointment by various justices of the peace in Flanders.
Both his many years of practical experience in the field and his knowledge of current legislation and case law mean that he is highly regarded and often a point of reference for both the legal and social sectors.
Partly because of his commitment to the bar (deputy justice of the peace for the 2nd canton of Aalst, chairman of the legal assistance committee of the Dendermonde Bar, sitting member of the Dendermonde probation committee, sitting member of the disciplinary council for Ghent, former member of the Dendermonde bar council), Benjamin Vermeulen is also a highly valued link between the COTTYN practice and the bar.

Benjamin in his own words
Starting out as a young associate in the then “small” COTTYN practice, I was especially taken by its approach, dynamism and team spirit. That formula meant that I very quickly found my niche in this firm, which has now become an established player in both the national and international legal markets.
Commitment, empathy and pragmatism are qualities that I hold in high regard and that I particularly wish to pass on to my younger colleagues in order to continue to guarantee optimal service.
